Dr. Ashrafzadeh (Dr. Ash as referred to by most) has been in private practice in Stanislaus County, California since 2002. Dr. Ash has been performing LASIK eye surgery since 2001 and has performed LASIK eye surgery at several different LASIK centers. In November 2005, Northern California Laser Center was opened to bring patients not only the highest level of medical and surgical care, but also to be a state of the art advanced LASIK surgery center with the most technologically advanced equipment available.

Dr. Ash, a specialist in LASIK eye Surgery and Corneal Surgeries, has brought some of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic devices to the Central Valley. He was an early adopter of Visante Anterior Segment OCT (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Dublin, CA) which allows Ultra-high resolution images of the front portion of the eye.  Dr. Ash is now a consultant to Carl Zeiss Meditec on the Visante omni product and speaks regularly at national meetings.  This device creates images that allow unique ability to evaluate and manage LASIK patients. Additionally, the IntraLase femtosecond laser has brought the safety of LASIK Eye surgery to new levels.

Dr. Ash has specialized training in performing LASIK eye surgery and other Corneal procedures such as corneal transplantation and anterior segment reconstruction. He is one of few corneal surgeon that has performed many newer techniques in corneal transplant surgery such as Deep Lamellar Endothelial Keratoplasty (DLEK) and Descemet Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSEK). By incorporating IntraLase femtosecond laser into his practice, he brings a revolutionary change in corneal transplant surgery technique with IntraLase Enabled Keratoplasty (IEK). He has created the first center in Northern California to offer IEK, well ahead of most academic centers. In fact, Dr. Ash is the first surgeon to perform IEK (laser assisted corneal transplant surgery) in Northern California.

He was one of the very first surgeons to perform the revolutionary presbyopia correcting Cataract Surgery with ReSTOR, Tecnis Multifocal, ReZoom, Acrysof Toric IOL and CrystaLens implants. He is also one of very few surgeons that performs implantation of intraocular contact lens, Verisyse.

Dr. Ash remains involved academically. He has been invited to speak at many different events nationally and internationally, such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His research work has been published in different peer-reviewed journals including Ophthalmology the official publication of the American Academy of Ophthalmology

Dr. Amin Ashrafzadeh finds the greatest joy in helping patients obtain the best possible vision and restoring sight. He finds the greatest complement in referral of other patients by his current patients. He is fluent in Farsi and Spanish.
